We Believe In…

GOD

We believe there is one God. He is the eternal, almighty creator of the physical and spiritual realms. He is three persons in one being. Father, Son, and Spirit have always existed and will always exist together simultaneously. His character determines the moral standard of all beings and he alone judges the universe. Among his characteristics are: independence, immutability, eternity, omnipresence, infinity, transcendence, spirituality, invisibility, knowledge, wisdom, truthfulness, faithfulness, goodness, love, mercy, grace, patience, holiness, peace, righteousness, jealousy, wrath, sovereignty, omnipotence, freedom, perfection, blessedness, beauty, glory, and immanence. God is king and he reigns in sovereignty. No one can compete with God, he has no rival.

(Gen. 1:26; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19).

SIN

We believe sin is the #1 problem in this world. It is what lost us the Garden of Eden and doomed mankind to the toil and pain of the world we now know. Sin separates us from God because of his holiness and righteousness. No amount of good works can make up for a single sin because in God’s moral economy good does not make up for bad. Because God is perfect, perfection is demanded. Even 1 sin (like Adam and Eve’s bite out of the fruit) is enough to separate you from God for eternity.

SCRIPTURE

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the divinely inspired Word of God, written by dozens of people over thousands of years. We believe it teaches and contains every principle needed for a rich life with God here on earth. The Bible is complete, 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. We believe it is historically, archeologically, and literarily verified and completely accurate to it’s intended objective. It is inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God’s will for salvation, and supreme and final authority in faith and life.

(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21)

SALVATION

We believe the central purpose of God’s revelation in Scripture is to call all people into relationship with Himself. We believe that salvation comes to all who call upon the name of the Lord. Salvation is not something earned through good works or rituals, it is something asked for and received. It comes through believing in who Jesus is and what he has done, then applying it personally. Salvation is a once-and-for-all event, meaning once God has saved you, you are saved forever. Salvation happens when God chooses you and you choose him. With salvation comes forgiveness of past, present, and future sin, as well as the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit (God himself), and a permanent place in God’s presence for eternity. Each individual must choose salvation because it requires repentance, belief, and surrender; therefore you cannot choose salvation for someone else, you must help them choose it for themselves. We believe salvation is grace-given through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, was paid for by Christ on the cross, is received by faith, and cannot be earned through good works or rituals. We also believe that salvation produces a desire to become more like Christ in character and purpose. (1 Tim. 2:4-5; John 1:12; 3:3-7; 5:24; Tit. 3:5; Eph. 2:8-10; Rom. 13:8-10)

FAMILY

We believe the family unit is God’s best plan for expanding his kingdom down through the generations. Families probably won’t always look the same throughout the eons, but the older always ought to teach the younger the tenants of the faith. The family should be fought for, and nurtured, and defended so that young Christians can have a place to learn, and make mistakes, and find successes, and gain experiences that will prepare them for being a Christian adult.

JESUS

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son. He is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that He lived a sinless life on earth and died a substitutionary death on the cross, that His sacrifice for the sins of all people satisfied God’s justice, and that all who believe in Him are freed from the penalty of sin and made acceptable before God on the grounds of His sin-payment. We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His current ministry of prayer on behalf of His people, and His visible return from Heaven. (Matt. 1:18-23; Luke 24:1-8; John 1:1,14; Acts 1:11; 2Cor. 5:19-21; Heb. 4:14-16; 1 John 2:1; Rev. 19,20)

HUMANITY

We believe that God created everything, including humans. He created them to bear his image, be free from sin and rule over his creation. He created them male and female and gave them dominion over the world. Adam and Eve knowingly and willingly rejected God’s rule to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and in-so-doing brought sin into the world leaving the earth cursed and humanity spiritually and hereditarily tainted by sin. The effect is that all people are sinners by nature and choice, are spiritually dead, and are in need of a Savior.

EVANGELISM

We believe evangelism is God’s plan for saving this world and bringing everyone into his family that he will. Jesus told his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in God’s name. Therefore, evangelism is every Jesus-follower’s commission. There are some who are supernaturally gifted to accomplish this, and others who are more naturally inclined to do so, but every Christian ought to experience the beauty and privilege of bringing others into salvation.

CHURCH

We believe that the Church is a spiritual body, with Jesus Christ as its head. We believe the Church is made up of all those who have trusted Christ as their Savior and Lord. We believe that Scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, observance of believers baptism and communion as the ordinances established by Jesus Christ, fellowship, service to the body through the development and use of talents and gifts, and outreach to the world. The church and the family unit form a necessary and beautiful symbiosis of discipleship and evangelism. A Christian without a church is like a wolf without a pack, even if they have a family.

(Matt.28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2:41-47; 1 Cor. 11:23-26; Eph. 5:21; Col. 1:18; Heb. 10:24-25)

We Value…

KNOWLEDGE of the Gospel

We believe salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. We are committed through word and deed to see all believers understand the the message of the gospel and grow into fully devoted followers of Christ by bearing fruit through speaking the gospel.

EQUIPPING with the Gospel

We believe that every believer should grow in their knowledge and use of the gospel. Through evangelism-centered trainings, resources and practices for the whole family we help equip every member of the family. We provide them with a clear gospel message to be understood and shared with all ages and all cultures.

DISCIPLESHIP through the Gospel

We believe that every believer should grow in their knowledge and use of the gospel. Through evangelism-centered trainings, resources and practices for the whole family we help equip every member of the family. We provide them with a clear gospel message to be understood and shared with all ages and all cultures.

CONFIDENCE to speak the Gospel

We believe that confidence is key in speaking with others about Christ. Helping families raise children who are confident to talk about Jesus with their friends will not only change eternities, but it builds confidence for their future faith.

MOBILIZATION of the Gospel

We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to every believer. Therefore, every believer has a mandate to share Christ with people. At Eternity Changers we want to teach believers to understand and obey their calling to go and share the gospel. Luke 15; Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20

ENCOURAGEMENT in the Gospel

We believe that encouragement is key to the success of someone’s faith journey. Beyond growth in knowledge and mobility of the gospel, we believe in the whole development of every individual, and strive to be an encouraging and comforting body of believers. As Eternity Changers develops a community of believers living out and speaking the gospel, we desire to see people strengthened
